Dolomites wedding/ Elopement Lago di Braies and Dolomites

The Italian Dolomites are the mountains I return to most often. And still, each time, they surprise me. Their beauty doesn’t grow familiar, it deepens.

When Iva and Petr started dreaming about their elopement, they pictured somewhere grand, wild, and unforgettable. They chose a Dolomites wedding elopement— a place they had never visited— and looked for a photographer who knew the mountains and could help plan their day.

They combined their elopement with a family holiday, with Iva’s parents watching their children so they could enjoy a day just for themselves. We started with getting ready, and Iva had a special request: two first looks, one with Petr and one with her dad. Both were among the most emotional moments of the entire day.

At Lago di Braies, my husband was already waiting with boats he had arranged in advance. On that June afternoon, the lake was unexpectedly calm. We drifted across its surface, the oars dipping silently into the water, the world seemed reduced to green forests, wooden boats, and the mountain peaks. Later, we climbed to a breathtaking viewpoint. In that stillness, with no one else in sight, Iva and Petr exchanged their vows, with the fading light and the mountains standing as their witnesses.

Why Choose the Dolomites for Your Wedding or Elopement?

1. Unforgettable locations If you dream of mountains, few places can rival the beauty of the Dolomites. Jagged peaks, turquoise lakes, and endless alpine meadows will become part of your love story. The sheer scale of the landscape adds a depth and meaning to your vows that you simply won’t find elsewhere.

2. A tailor-made experience The Dolomites offer endless possibilities. You can take a boat ride, fly over the peaks by helicopter, have a picnic in a wildflower meadow, spend the night in a mountain hut high above the valleys, or hike to a secluded alpine lake. I can help you create a combination of experiences that feels completely yours.

3. Easy access to stunning views Many breathtaking spots are within reach without strenuous hikes – you can get there by a short walk, a cable car, or even by car. No 4x4 required.

4. Beauty in every season The Dolomites are magical year-round. In summer, green meadows and warm evenings invite you to linger; in autumn, larches turn a golden yellow; in winter, snow transforms the landscape into a fairytale; and in spring, fresh mountain air mingles with the scent of blooming wildflowers.
